music i deleted last night from my itunes library at 3 in the morning
this is some of the music i deleted because i do not listen to it because i think it is bad. i feel very tired of the music that i have. 20 days of music and nothing good to listen to. i would like something good to listen to. if i had something like this i feel i would be excited about writing again.

add some Old 97's.
elliott smith doesn't feel right with drums and stuff. i feel irritated. this is why i kept either/or, new moon, and self-titled, and roman candle.
i really really really don't like spoon but i feel like old 97s are fun but only on road trips or something. but you are right, they barely made the 'cut'.

You seem to like 'quieter' music. Do you like Nick Drake or Doves or Red House Painters?
i do like nick drake but i can only handle so much. i feel he has a certain matrix he works well for me in and he is dynamic within this matrix but then i get bored.
i don't know doves.
i do like red house painters although they have not 'hit me at a gut level'. they are good during the rain. i like mark kozelek personally because he hit me on a gut level.
it was in vegas and i had it coming.

devotchka is the only half decent music we play at bread&cup (unless i play mason jennings like i did for five hours on repeat this morning, because i was afraid if i changed it the boss would notice that it wasn't his euro-techno-jazz playing). anyway, i think you could have kept devotchka.

i feel very irritated with devotchka because i feel is beating a dead horse. we get it. you're 'different'.

at like 2 this morning i deleted all of my browser bookmarks accidentally and i felt like the main part of me had died

In 10 years you will (probably) regret your decision to throw music out, regardless of how bad it may sound now.
Although... mp3s are different maybe. Easier to erase and be done with. I sold a bunch of old shitty Christian CDs to Hastings back in my college days and I sort of regret it now.

i had most of those records for months and had not listened to them. like the why? record. i felt excited when i first got it but was never 'sold' on it. i began to feel despondent every time i passed through them alphabetically on itunes. i knew i would pointless to just keep 'okay' albums that i didn't listen. it was just room on my hard drive.
